Saint Mary the Virgin's Knights of Columbus Council 13363 recently received two important awards: The Star Council Award and the Lone Star Award for Excellence. This was the first time the SMV Council has received either of these awards.
The Star Council Award recognizes outstanding achievement in membership, insurance and service program activities. Councils must conduct and report at least four major programs in each of the Service Program categories: Church, community, council, family, culture of life, and youth. Councils then must meet or exceed their goals for membership growth (7%) and insurance member growth (3%). The Texas State Council recognizes councils that go above and beyond the Star Council award with the Lone Star Award for Excellence. To receive this award a council must meet the Star Council Award criteria, pay State Per Capita dues on time, make State Charity Goal and seat at least one delegate at the State Convention.
If you shop online, you can help the Knights and yourself by visiting www.shop.com/KC13363 and shopping through this website. The SMV Knights get a percentage of sales, at no cost to you, and you get year-end cash back. For more information contact Ben Oliver or John Williams. They will be happy to help you get set up with the program.
